Troop 373 Day Hike at  Camp Trask

When:  May 11 , 2019   Saturday

Car pooling on Sat. be at  Church North Parking Lot at Noon.       (or at Trask at 1pm, but carpooling encouraged)

Scouts are back at Church parking lot at 5pm  (Pick up at Trask at 4:30pm if not carpooling)

What: Scouts will  Hike with Map a Compass over a 2.5 mile trek with a interesting class.  All Scout welcomed.
    Credit Towards:   2nd/1st Class, Hiking, Outdoor, and Leave No Trace

Cost:  Free

Where: Camp Trask in Monrovia Canyon park, do not pay entrance fee  Map to Trask

Who:  All Troop 373 Scouts.   Parents welcome.

Bring: Scout handbook, . Water and 10 ESSENTIALS 

Note if you have not turned in a form in the this year. Please turn in the new BSA Med form Parts A and B before going on the Camp, complete Parts A and B for this weekend trip; (you do not need Part C it is for Summer camps. only A doctor must complete Part c of the form,) The Medical form is good for one year.

The Scout (10) ESSENTIALS

Any time you hike, bike, backpack or venture into the wilderness, remember to always
carry the Scout (10) Essentials:

 ____ 1. Water
____ 2. Map & Compass (map often provided by the Troop)
____ 3. Flashlight/batteries
____ 4. Knife, pocket
____ 5. First Aid Kit, small   (Medication if any you are taking)
____ 6. Extra Clothing  (Jacket)      (and - or rain poncho/solar blanket )
____ 7. Trail food -  and if told to Matches - Bring for 1st Class and above
____ 8. Sunscreen /Sunglasses
____ 9. Rain Gear - Also can be two large trash bags or rain poncho/solar blanket
___ 10. Whistle (and Mirror unbreakable)

Other important items:
____  Hat
____ tissue/toilet paper & zip lock baggy
____ lip balm
____ rain poncho/solar blanket

Even though there are more than ten items the troop's scout essentials, are often cited as the 10 Essentials.
Each scout shall be responsible for having in their possession the required Scout
Essentials at each camp - out or activity of the troop unless advised otherwise by their
junior or adult leader.
